Should I Inspect My Rental Car Before Driving?

Should I Inspect my Rental Car Before Driving? Hey Venice, Jenny here with a topic that might have you scratching your head or wondering, well should I inspect my rental before driving it off the lot? Everyone knows a rental car service is a luxury we use commonly when we are visiting another state, city, or even country! You may have even needed a rental for vehicle repairs! Have you ever thought to yourself before renting, "Is this a safe vehicle?", we are covered with insurance (in most cases) but have you actually taken the time to inspect the vehicle before taking off on the road?  In this blog we are going to discuss just this and the importance of giving your rental vehicle a thorough inspection BEFORE driving away! It is vital to your safety and to the safety of others that you don't forget or disregard this important step.  My parents rented a vehicle in Arizona recently to do a cross country drive to Nashville, TN and ... read more

Auto Repair Shop Ending Hunger in Southwest Florida Part II

Auto Repair Shop Ending Hunger in Southwest Florida Part II

Auto Repair Shop Ending Hunger in Southwest Florida Part II Back in November we had run a campaign to collect canned goods, non perishables, hygiene products and even pet products for the South County Food Pantry. We decided to keep the food drive running through the new year and even had help from another auto repair shop on the East coast of Florida, A&H Automotive. Through these gracious efforts we hope to get the food Pantries and food banks back in good standing since hurricane Ian swept through.  We received boxes of goods from A&H automotive and items from our local clientele that all contributed to our second haul for the South County Food Pantry. A&H understood what all entails when you are hit with a category 5 hurricane, so they jumped right in to help us with our initiative. We couldn't be more thankful for the support we have received from them and all contributing businesses over on the east coast to make this possible.  ... read more

Auto Repair Shop Helping to End Hunger for Southwest Florida

Auto Repair Shop Helping to End Hunger for Southwest Florida Hurricane Ian came ripping through Southwest Florida on September 27th, 2022. It caused so much devastation to our side of the coast, that the need for food, and basic necessities was very much felt throughout the communities. A local newspaper article recently wrote that the local Food Banks are in much need for the holidays coming up. The participating agencies are Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Senior Friendship Center, and the South County Food Pantry. We have partnered with our friends and neighbors at the South County Food Pantry to be a drop off location for canned goods and non perishable items.  We are asking all of our friends, neighbors, clients and family to bring in any donations they might be able to give and in return we are going to enter those into a drawing for a FREE Turkey on November 18th. (We want to make sure you have more than enough notice before ... read more

How Do I Improve my Fuel Economy?

How Do I Improve my Fuel Economy?

How do I Improve my Fuel Economy?   These days you might be cringing at the gas pump each time you visit with the rising fuel prices. In this blog, we would like to discuss what you can do as a driver to improve your fuel economy and hopefully save you some money when it's time to fill up! Summer months are quickly approaching, when there is a rise in temperature, your fuel economy can actually increase because your engine doesn't have to work so hard to get up to a normal temperature. To counteract this though, there is the running of the A/C system in your vehicle that reduces fuel economy to keep the inside of the vehicle at a comfortable temperature. The easy solution to this you would think would be just rolling the windows down, right? But no. Rolling the windows down can also decrease fuel economy because now your vehicle is fighting against the wind resistance and using more power to push through that! Not to mention, who wants to roll the ... read more
